Mia has some options which she takes time to consider carefully. She has the credits needed to graduate from high school, but she will lose her financial support as an exchange student. She feels like hanging out in high school with the Sigworths is stagnant and she is ready to take on her next challenge. She has already planned for a gap year between high school and university and has been thinking that she should go ahead and move ahead with her plans. She has really wanted to spend her gap year on Batuu and was disappointed that she could not do so as a teenager.
With her decision made, she has to tell her parents and then let the Sigworths know that she will be leaving. Today. She is leaving today.
They decide to have a party to celebrate Mia’s decision and to see her off on her gap year adventure.
Emily has something to say to Skye and I have no idea what got into them.
Mia enjoys visiting with her dad and siblings but the time has come.
She celebrates with a cake and prepares to leave.

After her family leaves, she says good bye to the Sigworths and calls for her transportation. She is off on her new adventure.
Mia arrives in Batuu and to start off her new adventure the right way, she has a makeover and cuts her hair.
