Proud of Darkness, Chapter 13

After taking some time to play Yuma and complete 100 Babies of Grace, then complete Bella Immortal, and then write Bea Starr, I had to take a break. So I started Shannon: Sliding Doors and Manley Monster Mash.  But now, it is time to get back to Vanity and see where she stands.  With no toddlers in the house, it is high time for Vanity to concentrate on getting her goals completed.  I updated all of the scoring and tracking to show all of the challenges she still has active.

Larceny is bald!  I forgot that after Yuma was done with the 100 baby challenge I went and deleted the mod for kids to have non-standard hair colors.  I didn’t think any of my other kids were using the mod.  Apparently I was wrong.

Larceny gets the same hairstyle back although his hair color is a little different.  It is the palest color available to children but a little darker than what he had before.

Checking on Vanity and she is laughing at Srik’s grave.

Avarice is working on completing her aspiration so she can become a Whiz Kid and make Vanity proud.

Treasure discovers the dollhouse is broken – but doesn’t have any idea who might have broken it.  Of course not.

Vanity realizes it is time to hire another repairman.  Hopefully this one will survive his trip.  It would be bad if they were to stop sending them out.

Avarice had to make some emotion potions and being such a sweet big sister, she talked her siblings into drinking them.  Turns out it wasn’t that big a deal and they all got a confident moodlet.

Larceny asks Vanity for advice and she advises him to find a place to hide.

Avarice works really hard and completes her aspiration to become a whiz kid.  Surely Vanity will be proud of her now.

Well, maybe she should take a shower first.  Sometimes a fart is more than just a fart.

This is the third game in as many days that I have played that has had the New Years Eve holiday come up.  Something about the way the living room is setup kept them from being able to yell at the TV so no one had a successful holiday.

After it was over, the kids went to bed and Vanity went to hang out in the sauna.

The kids have a rough night – and I found out these half walls around the bathroom don’t give them privacy.  They must not be considered “walls”, so they will need to be replaced by a different “half-wall”.

Then, in a another big change, Vanity decided to move the family to Windenberg.  She bought the biggest 64×64 lot and bulldozed the Villareal house and built a brand new Proud Mansion. Thanks Deanna!

The basement has two cells (literally), a photo studio, a playroom for the children, Vanity’s work lab and office, several crypts, a sauna, and other miscellaneous activities.  Yes, those are 34 violins in storage – that is what it took to get the value of the house over §750k, but I am not counting it until the end of the challenge.  My goal is to replace the violins over time as the house hopefully will find a way to actually be worth more without needing to be artificially inflated and still be playable.  And I have already eaten the depreciation so I am keeping them for now.  Without the violins the house is worth ~§350k.

The main house (from left to right) has three suites, a nursery, toddler room, open plan living/dining/kitchen area, Vanity’s suite, and the museum.  At the top is the back porch and catio for Ravenclaw, and the bottom is the front porch.

The back yard includes a play area for the toddlers and children, a swimming pool and hot tub, telescope and future rocket.

The cemetery has plenty of room for all of the graves that will be added during the challenge.  There are currently nine graves, eight unique death types.

The attic is ready for the black sheep – it isn’t luxurious, but they won’t be dying of old age either.

Larceny, Treasure, and Cache are testing out their new beds.

Avarice finds hers just right.

Vanity’s first task is to make sure Raven has food.

Although Raven is happy enough eating whatever the kids left out on the counter.

Vanity loves her new office.  She loads up Sims and plays for awhile.  Maybe the kids won’t find her down here.

Raven breaks in the new litter box and catio.  A room to call her own.

Despite being hidden in the dungeon, Avarice tracks her down and asks for advice.

Oh hell no.

Avarice is sucking up to Vanity lately because every time I look for her she is somewhere talking to or trying to talk to Vanity.

Vanity realizes that if Raven is going to be immortal there is something that needs to be deactivated or they are both going to be miserable for eternity.

Ravenclaw is now spayed.

Treasure is wakes up needy.

Vanity’s jealousy is causing tension so she has two choices – she can kill Father Winter (yeah not even Vanity is that heartless) or she can break up with him).  She chooses the latter.  After breaking up with him, she asks for his DNA.  After all of the rejections from everyone she knows – he says yes with literally no relationship remaining.  (I am not sure which one is causing her tension – she has several romantic interests so she is cleaning up the panel).

Then she tries to feed, but her powers are weak during the day and she fails to feed – and he laughs at her and leaves.

Larceny and Treasure are sharing the same stuffed cat.  There are three stuffed animals in the house and it is funny that they choose to talk to the stuffed cat at the same time.

Vanity was planning on adopting an elder cat so she could be working on filling the pet cemetery.  But, first there weren’t any elder cats available.  So, she was going to adopt an adult cat.  But, then she saw this kitten – named Catastrophy.  And, well of course, she just had to adopt him, because CATASTROPHY – how could she not adopt him.

Catastrophy is Mischievous, Curious, and Spoiled.

Deciding to go ahead and fill the house up, and still not having the option of an elderly cat, this time Vanity adopts an adult male named Turtle.  Turtle is Skittish, Affectionate, and Spoiled.  Great, three spoiled cats.

Raven hasn’t met the new cats yet, she is still checking out the Bubalus that the family now has.

Avarice completed her new year’s resolution with an increase of her social skill which she celebrated with a selfie with Cache.

Vanity finally was able to get something to eat, even if was a teen.  This is what happens when you go wandering around after dark.

Then she heads home for some fun with Ryan.  Ryan is her girlfriend so this is where her tension was coming from – she was jealous because she didn’t know where Ryan was.

Well, they remedied that.

Raven met the new cats – well, at least she met Catastrophy.  She does not look happy.

Damn monsters under the bed – don’t they know this is a house of monsters.

Nightlights have been added and the kids will nap until they can sleep.

Oh look, Yuki came to see Vanity also – Vanity is having a busy night.  She looks pretty happy about it also.

Vanity checks out the Bubalus – got to keep it content and happy so it doesn’t give anyone Rabid Rodent Fever, yet.  😉

I have been playing Sims since August 2005; a member, then a moderator, and now an admin of since October 2006. My sister is the one that hooked me on Sims in the beginning. She had all of the original Sims games and one week while I was on vacation I took her games and started playing. That was the beginning of my obsession. I played Sims 1 for about a month and then decided to buy Sims 2. When Sims 3 was released I made the move and have never looked back. Now I am all in on Sims 4 and still loving it.
