It is finally time to begin a new scenario. This one should be a fast one – level 3 career or level 5 skill and §25,000 in the bank. The scenario begins with a single sim living alone, and I am able to choose one of the existing sims in the game.
New Year New Hustle
Potential Outcomes
- Have §25,000 and reach level 5 in a skill
- Reach level 3 of a career
Nako Teramoto is a single sim who lives in Sulani. She doesn’t have a job but does have level 3 in fitness and gardening. Her aspiration is to become a Bestselling Author. She doesn’t have any family in her family tree so she is a newly generated sim – she has 20 days until she becomes an Adult. Her traits are Recycle Disciple, Cheerful, and Lazy. She is going to change from Bestselling Author to Beach Life, and she is going to pick up a part time career as a Fisherwoman. Her targeted skill will be fishing, so she doesn’t begin with any significant advantages.

In order to achieve the spirit of the challenge, she takes the initial §20,000 that she starts with and furnishes and redecorates the house. She now has §353 remaining and will have to accumulate §25,000.

Nako takes the early morning shift and will be working 5am to 9am daily. She begins as a Goldfish Hunter, level 1. She sets two traps, one that isn’t hers and one that she bought. This doesn’t seem to help her fishing skill, but as she is broke, she needs all the incoming items as possible.

There is a fishing area just down from her house and she spends time here working on how to fish. She gets her skill up to level 4 which is enough for the promotion but not enough for the scenario.

She went out to the nearby bar and met some new sims and now she is heading home the next morning. She didn’t do anything scandalous other than stay out and up all night.

She pays for it though as she gets home in time to go to work. She is getting promoted fairly easy and becomes a River Wrangler level 2 without a lot of effort or thought.

The Beach Life aspiration is a really laid back approach. She has to get a suntan and she chose to do it nude. She also needs to shave, if she chooses.

She needs a Gold level Kava Party so she starts with the few friends she made at the bar. It is only silver so she will need to try again.

Another day at work and when she gets home she buys a lottery ticket. In all the years, only one of my sims has won the lottery. And another sim knew who won the lottery, moved them in with their family, killed them off, and kept the winnings.

There is always such a mess after a party and this is no exception. Nako has to spend several hours cleaning up plates and mugs from every surface in the house.

Before she has her next party, she is going to prepare a little better. She begins making group meals and stashing them in the fridge.

Really?!? Father Winter won the lottery. The one sim that is already loaded in the game. Figures.

She also is trying to not cook for herself so she orders from Zoomers – one of everything. At least her fridge is stocked with leftovers now.

Party #2 is also a silver level party. It didn’t help that Nako had an accident just before the party ended.

Dust bunnies are persistent. Nako stomps on them when she sees one. She hasn’t been able to afford the robotic vacuum so she is doing it toe manual way. Stomping.

Agnes Agatha, I believe, came over to cook for Nako. Zoomers only brings single meals while Agatha is supposed to be making group meals. She had one meal blow up in her face so she quit cooking and began cross-stitching. Eventually, she started cooking again.

While Agatha cooks, Nako begins to make bowls of kava. Three bowls to be sure.

Today is Pride Fest so Agatha and Nako drink, and drink, and drink. It takes three drinks before Nako feels that she had a gold holiday. She isn’t interested in the Party Spirit but she sure liked the Drinking.

Party #3 is a success – Gold-level and ended early. No accidents, no drunks, but still a mess to clean up. It just took practicing two times. The trip was that there would be two goals to make a group meal, two goals to make a toast, etc. To succeed, there need to be three bowls of kava and one incomplete meal and a radio to dance to. She got lucky this time because instead of telling stories she just needed to tell jokes.

It is the weekend and Nako doesn’t go back to work until Monday so she is working on the aspiration. Next is to grill five meals. More food for the fridge and cooking improves to level 5.

It took me awhile to figure this out. Nako is a Recycle Disciple so she loves her trash. Thankfully she didn’t recycle any of her own furniture. That used to be a thing but it looks like maybe it was fixed.

Beachcombing for anything really. She is keeping the buried treasure and the seashells and selling anything else. She is still pretty darn broke, but that is the life when you really just want to be a beach bum.

Nako makes a quick trip over to check out the beach cave and she is not impressed. She had to run, RUN, from the Kraken. She didn’t even collect anything cool. Or anything at all.

Now, this is the Beach Life. Nako has completed the aspiration and she is now so Laid Back that she will never get tense again. Which is a lie because she is almost immediately tense because she wants to do something fun.

And with the last promotion, the scenario is over. For what it is worth, Nako is “Climbing the Career Ladder” It took her 7 days to get to this point. Nako is now a Deep Sea Fishing Master level 3. Also her level 5 skill ended up being cooking, but that didn’t matter since she never got anywhere near §25,000 in the bank.

While I know I am not going to be updating all the previous households, I just had to share that Angelia has gotten married to Tarathiel Landgraab and they have three kiddos – Thor, Milana, and Finley.
